New Moon Farm Canadien Horses

History

The Canadian Horse "Le Cheval Canadien" was the first horse breed developed in Canada with horses arriving from the stables of King Louis XIV of France from 1665-1670. In the year 2000 it was declared Canada's National Horse

I believe our Canadians on our farm match the words of The Honorable M. Fisher - Minister of Agriculture 1908-"I still have something to say about the Canadian Horse; it's about his temperment. The Canadian Horse is the most gentle, the kindest, the most docile that I have ever seen. He is straight forward, he never quits no matter the task that he is required to do. As a road horse he just goes on, and on, and on, until told to stop. As a draft horse he pulls until the load comes, he is never discouraged. And then, a child can do what he wants with one."

We are a small farm located on the North Shore of P.E.I. where our horses are used daily for work, play and just plain fun. After having Canadians there is no other breed of horse to have - They are the Ultimate family horse.
